Juan Pablo Murra Lascurain is Rector at Tec de Monterrey and a professor of conscious leadership, family business, and corporate governance. He is a trusted and approachable voice within the academic community, deeply committed to the well-being of students, faculty, and collaborators. His vision positions Tec as a platform for transformation—driving excellence in education, applied research, and socially impactful projects.

Convinced that education is a catalyst for hope and transformation, he leads an institutional agenda that addresses global challenges with innovation, shared responsibility, and human sensitivity. Under his leadership, Tec de Monterrey has strengthened its commitment to holistic education, purpose-driven entrepreneurship, and the generation of knowledge to help solve humanity’s most pressing problems.

Throughout his journey at Tec, he has held key leadership roles including Vice President for Relations and Development, Dean of the Business School, Vice President for Planning and Transformation, and Secretary of the Board of Directors. In each position, he has contributed to building an engaged, future-oriented, and socially responsible university community.

Before joining Tec, he spent over a decade at McKinsey & Company, advising organizations across the private, public, and social sectors on strategic issues in Mexico, the United States, Russia, Colombia, and Brazil.

He currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors at FIMPES and sits on the boards of Consejo Cívico, Consejo Nuevo León, Reach Alliance, and several internal councils at Tec.

He holds a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Tec de Monterrey and an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
